MINNETONKA, Minn., June 18, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- OneBeacon Insurance Group recently announced the winners of its annual college scholarship program. Sixteen high-school seniors were awarded $2,000 scholarships, including OneBeacon employees' children as well as children of the company's distribution partners. Winners were selected based on criteria such as academic record, leadership skills and participation in school and community activities.

OneBeacon CEO Mike Miller said, "OneBeacon is pleased to recognize these recent high-school graduates who have demonstrated their capabilities through academic excellence, strong leadership and contributions to their communities. Through our scholarship program, we are able to contribute to their future as they begin their college studies."

OneBeacon's scholarship program is managed by Scholarship Management Services®, a nonprofit scholarship program administrator, and is funded by the OneBeacon Charitable Trust. This marks the ninth year that the program has awarded scholarships, which were increased from $1,500 to $2,000 beginning in 2012.
